No, you didn’t read the title wrong. December 29th will be our last day at Edify’s current storefront location.
But before I go any further, I need to clarify some terms. In this scenario, I want to be sure to distinguish our store from our business. The storefront on Bridge Street has been our public store. But we were a business before we procured that location through the farmer’s market. We are leaving the store, but by no means are we closing our business.
What does that mean exactly?
I’m glad you asked.
Let me describe one more term to you. Edify (Verb). To instruct or benefit; uplift.
Our goal when we created Edify was to do just that; to edify others who had dietary restrictions or medical ailments through wholesome food and holistic medicine. We’ve come to realize that for us this means something more personal than our current setup. This transition is simply a shift of focus, not an ending.
I know you may have some questions. Allow me to answer at least the main ones.
How can I get my gluten-free products?
We’ll have several methods of distributing our products.
Most simply you can call in an order or send us a message through Facebook of what you’d like. If you live locally, you then have two options. We can either deliver directly to you, or you can pick up your order at a designated meet-up location. This way you get your gluten-free goodies while still buying locally and without paying for shipping.
We’ll also have some of our products in Market No. 9 if you’re looking for a last minute item. You can find their location here. And once May comes, we’ll be back at the farmer’s market here in Chillicothe.
If you don’t live in Chillicothe, we’re also in the process of setting up our online shop, which we hope to open in early January, where all our products will be for sale throughout the state of Ohio. For this, all you need is a PayPal account and we’ll ship directly to you.
Please keep in mind that we have a flurry of ideas for expanding the availability of our products, so stay tuned for more updates in this regard.
What about my Christmas shopping?
Not to worry, all special orders will still be filled. And we’ll still take Christmas orders until the deadline of December 21st.
If you’ve purchased a gift certificate you can still use it to place a call-in or Facebook order and get your desired goods through delivery or a pick-up location. In fact, gift certificates will continue to be for purchase until Christmas.
Because we’re leaving our storefront, we’re looking to liquidate some supplies and inventory we will no longer need. Not only are all of our products on sale up to 25% off, but our shelving units, tables, and other supplies will be for sale. If you’ve admired some of those nifty looking pieces of furniture, you can now purchase one for yourself or a loved one!
Everything must go by December 29th, so if you come with a reasonable offer, we will happily work with you. So come on in and let’s help each other out.
A personal message.
We are so grateful for all of the support our customers have shown us. You guys are awesome and we love serving you! I can’t count how many times you’ve encouraged us by telling your friends and coming in so regularly for your gluten-free groceries.
We truly love what we’re doing and hope you’ll continue with us in this new phase of Edify’s journey. I’m sure this may come as a shock to many. However, we continue to be confident in God’s good plan for our business and we can’t wait to see what He does next!
See you soon!
